Inside page

This is a picture of the inside page of my newspaper. I have added more stories and an advertisement since the last update o the blog.

I think that the photograph i used for the junk mail piece was good as it suits a newspaper style and clearly demonstrates and epitomizes the issue discussed in the article.

I also used photoshop in order to cut out the figures used in the banner at the top of the page. I photographed them normally and the using the pen tool i drew around the figures and coped them in. This prevents the white box appearing around the figure and gives a much more aesthetically pleasing newspaper. These figures are also good for drawing the reader quickly to the text next to them, this in turn directs them to pages further into the newspaper and allows them to ski straight to stories that they are interested in.

I have also included a weather description on the left hand side of the page as most local newspapers that i have looked at include some sort of weather report about the local area. I think that the format of an individual day forcast and then a prediction for the next four days is a good idea as it provides people with exact weather information, enabling them to plan their day around it. The four day one also provides a prediction that could then be refined each day, in each issue of the paper.
