This is the first start that i have made on designing the actual style of my inside page. I have based my design for this page on the style used in the Portsmouth News as i think that their style of newspaper is very sophisticated yet still able to appeal to the average reader.

I have decided to use the graduated colour change in the block a the top of the page as i think that this gives the page a cool and upmarket look as it i much easier on the eye than a solid block of colour.

The small photograph that i used at the top of the page is one that i took of my friend and then added to photoshop to cut away the back ground behind him. I then used the feather tool and softened the edges in order to get the picture to sit subtly on top of the coloured area without the jagged edges, caused by the cutting out, to make the design look shabby.

I have also added the break lines in order to separate the story from the header and ti simply border off the small story page references at the top.
